Please Note: This is a field service job focused on repairing and maintaining copiers and office equipment. It is not an IT support or help desk job.
At Boring Business Systems, we provide print and document solutions and are seeking a mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair copiers and printers at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Boring Business Systems with a positive and solution-oriented attitude, delivering top-tier customer service, addressing all client concerns with professionalism and care.
- Systematically complete service calls using all available resources, maximizing repair efficiency and proactive maintenance to reduce repeat service needs.
- Work both independently in the field and as part of a collaborative service team.
- Diagnose and repair technical issues with copiers and printers.
- Manage and prioritize service calls using a company-provided phone and laptop for seamless workflow.
- Accurately diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Complete service calls with speed, accuracy, and professionalism, resolving customer issues promptly.
- Maintain and organize inventory of car stock and participate in routine parts inventories to ensure availability of essential components.
- Maintain consistent communication with office team members for support, updates, and coordination.
- Stay current with industry advancements through ongoing training, manufacturer resources, and technical updates.
- Log all service details accurately and in a timely manner using e-Automate.
- Submit monthly mileage (via MOTUS) on schedule for accurate tracking and reimbursement.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 years of customer service experience
- 2 years of copier/printer repair is preferred
- Mechanical and technical aptitude with a knack for problem-solving.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular travel to client locations and the ability to:
- Operate a motor vehicle safely
- Lift, carry, push, or move equipment (occasionally exceeding 150 lbs. with assistance)
- Bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and reach overhead
- Sit or stand for extended periods
- Perform repetitive hand and finger movements (typing, writing, equipment handling)
- Read computer screens and detect color coding and fine print
- Communicate effectively in person and by phone
