Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Power Electronics Intern.
The Power Electronics Intern will perform the following tasks, as required by the engineering and technician teams program assemblies, conduct inventory, lab clean-up and reorganization projects, soldering and wire harness builds, thermal couple welding, testing, test box assembly, safeguard implementations, calibration, bench setups, purchasing, and packing/shipping/product transportation.
Key Responsibilities
BorgWarner does provide sponsorship for employment visa status based on business need. However, for this role, sponsorship is not available.

The Power Electronics Intern will perform the following tasks, as required by the engineering and technician teams program assemblies, conduct inventory, lab clean-up and reorganization projects, soldering and wire harness builds, thermal couple welding, testing, test box assembly, safeguard implementations, calibration, bench setups, purchasing, and packing/shipping/product transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering and technician activities such as test box assembly, product test, modification, fabrication of carts and safety covers, bench set-ups, and assembly of thermal couples and wire harnesses
- Support lab tours with lab reorganizations and clean up
- Capital inventory – record test equipment model numbers, serial numbers, and locations
- Calibration – ensure all test equipment is calibrated by the due date
- Program assemblies with product code as guided by engineering and program management
- Effective time management, communication, and multitasking skills
- Work a flexible schedule to support attending school
- Document and communicate assembly and test results
- Work in a team environment
- Have a keen eye for safety
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or be a graduate from an accredited college
- GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
- Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during school breaks
- Self-motivated with good time management skills and the ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Strong and effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with hands-on problem-solving skills
- Ability and desire to learn technical skills and develop creative approaches to solving difficult problems
- Drive to be part of the solution, actively seeking out tasks that can support the success of the team
- Mechanical inclination
- Microsoft Office skills – primarily Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
