Location Auburn Hills, MI About us PHINIA: Combustion-Technology Leader BorgWarner’s Fuel Systems and Aftermarket business (“PHINIA”) is intended to separate from BorgWarner in late 2023 PHINIA will be a product leader in fuel systems and aftermarket distribution with balanced and synergistic exposure among Commercial Vehicle (CV), Light Vehicle (LV) and Aftermarket end markets, with embedded relationships with global OEMs and a focus on the global vehicle parc. Job purpose We are looking for an enthusiastic student to join our growing PHINIA HR team as an ongoing year-round intern! This position will support us as we build a shared services HR model for our US PHINIA locations. This is an exciting opportunity to expand knowledge on the fundamentals of the HR function and help create the future of HR shared services as we become a standalone company. Key responsibilities Process all I-9's including E-verify Support I-9 audits and compliance audits New hire file creation and management Support with policies and procedure updates and storage Build intranet site for maintenance of all onboarding information Support all student program activities including recruitment, onboarding, timesheet submission, and events Interface with management to determine need for interns, specific requisition details, and any special requests/niche positions Consult with management regarding ability to hire (budget restraints) and cost implications of interns Provide day-to-day HR support for any issues, questions, concerns that arise with students (i.e. payroll, job fit, student presentation questions, performance issues, Workday HRIS, etc.) Support company discount program rollout and ongoing management Build employee handbook and assist with rollout Support benefits communications/updates as needed Other projects and duties as assigned What we’re looking for Currently pursuing Bachelor Degree in HR, Business, or related field Basic understanding of Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) Creative thinking and problem solving Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment What we believe Inclusion-We value diversity in people, ideas, and experiences.
