Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for patient documentation and medical records management.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
- Record vital signs and medical history accurately in patient files.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Educate patients on post-operative care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans.
- Maintain an organized inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency.
Experience
required:
- 2 years minimum of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting REQUIRED, preferably within orthodontic or general dentistry.
- 5 years experience preferred but NOT required Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology
- 2 years preferred but no required open dental
- Preferred but NOT required Experience with medical documentation, coding, and records management.
- Preferred but NOT required Knowledge of HIPAA regulation
