1.0 Job Summary

Quality Technician supports Borgers Ohio, assuring operational quality by monitoring process parameters, inspects & verifies parts and/or documents and resolves discrepancies or issues.

2.0 Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspect tag, process or reject tags.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics.
  • Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform job.
  • Collects, interprets and reports data.
  • Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process or quality system.
  • Coordinates end of line inspection and maintains documentation.
  • Trains production and quality personnel on quality requirements.
  • Coordinating containments in production, inspection and shipping.
  • Supporting in customer and vendor complaint management.
  • Participation in measurement system analysis (MSA) studies.
  • Maintains a positive and optimistic outlook.
  • Effectively interacts with internal customers and external contacts including customers, suppliers, and transportation workers.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Borgers organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Math skills including add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, and able to compute rate, ration and percent.

  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a work group or team
  • Able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including variable shifts and work days
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess good verbal and written communication

4.0 Special Requirements

  • Authorization to work and reside in the United States
  • Possess already or have the ability to obtain a passport as this position

6.0 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry items for short distances:

less than 20 pounds – frequently

less than 40 pounds – occasionally

greater than 40 pounds – infrequently

  • Ability to bend, kneel, or climb steps/ladders.
  • Small motor skills including ability to grasp, control and use objects or tool
  • Fine motor skills including manipulation of small objects
