Duties
- Safely handle and restrain animals using proper techniques to ensure their safety and comfort
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment
- Assist with pet feeding, medication administration, and monitoring health status
- Engage pets in stimulating activities such as playtime, training exercises, and socialization to promote animal behavior development.
- Support pet boarding operations by managing check-in/check-out procedures and updating pet records accurately
- Maintain outdoor work responsibilities such as yard cleaning, fence checks, and ensuring secure enclosures at all times
- Offer excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and behaviors
- Assist with animal behavior assessments to better understand individual pet requirements
- Participate in team lifting of heavy supplies or equipment to ensure safety during handling tasks
Experience
Candidates should bring prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, veterinary technician roles, pet sitting, or animal care facilities. Experience with kennel management, dog training, pet grooming, or animal restraint is highly valued. Familiarity with animal behavior assessment techniques and sanitation protocols for pet care facilities will set you apart. Physical stamina is essential—this role involves outdoor work, heavy lifting, and active engagement with animals throughout the day. Strong customer service skills combined with a passion for animal welfare will help you succeed in creating a welcoming environment for pets and their owners alike.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
