Commercial Construction Estimator – Remote
Projects ranging from $50k to $50m, new builds, interior renovations, upfits, additions, exterior improvements, restorations for commercial projects involving alternative energy, healthcare, corporate offices, etc.
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Construction Estimator to support nationwide projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze drawings/specs and define scope of work
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid packages
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing
- Perform detailed scope reviews and provide scope summaries
- Attend site walks as needed
- Submit complete bids by deadlines (including late evening submissions, e.g., 8PM CDT / 11PM EST)
- Generate project schedules and identify potential setbacks
- Ensure compliance with bonding, insurance, and bid documentation
- Conduct virtual meetings and email correspondence with nationwide clients via platforms like Teams, Procore
- Research materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Review subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimating preferred
- Ability to read plans and interpret specifications
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Procore a plus
- Self-motivated, reliable, and deadline-driven
- Clean background and driving record; drug-free
- Able to work remotely and adapt to changing project needs
