Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improving existing recipes
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times
- Utilize knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food prep tasks
- Support food handling procedures during meal preparation, ensuring quality and freshness
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations
- Participate in catering events and special functions as needed to provide excellent food service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Skilled in meal preparation, with an emphasis on quality presentation and taste
- Experience with menu planning and catering services is a plus
