Job Summary:
We are seeking a Community Planner / Grant Writer to join our team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong oral & written communication skills
- Ability to work indepentently or collectively with staff
- Analytical ability to gather and summarize data
- Ability to communicate effectively and make presentations to groups - Skills to interact with appointed boards and commissions
- Capacity to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines
Responsibilities:
- Transportation Planning
- Economic Development
- Watershed Planning
- Hazard Mitigation Planning
- Environmental Reviews
- Administration / management of projects
- Grant Writing - Highway Safety Grants
Qualifications:
- College Degree with major emphasis in Planning, Business, Communications, Public Administration or related fields
- Experience may be substituted for educational requirements
- Analytical ability to gather and summarize data
- Excellent report writing abilities to communicate findings effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of economic development principles is beneficial
- Knowledge of planning principles and practices
