What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fabricator position at Boonies?
Boonies is seeking a metal fabricator with 3 years of fabrication experience. Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to work collaboratively within a small team. We handle many creative fabrication projects in addition to small production runs of fabricated parts. Candidate must be willing to work on a variety of projects depending on needs of the shop.
This is not only a welding position. You will be expected to cut and form metal as well.
This candidate will primarily be working as a Carbon Steel fabricator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of experience as a metal fabricator.
- Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum; certification a plus but not required
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, tube weldments, and machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret complex shop drawings.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, action-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials safely.
- Maintain reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
We are looking for someone with strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
Part of the interviewing process will include a written exam to test fabrication knowledge, and a small hands on fabrication test. If selected for testing, please allot one hour of time on site to complete everything.
Responsibilities
Operating CNC plasma table, CNC press brake, Bridgeport Milling Machine. Generating cut lists from drawings. Cutting metal to spec from cut lists. Forming metal as need. TIG or MIG welding assemblies. Grinding and sanding metal. Drilling, reaming and tapping holes.
Primarily will work with carbon steel during initial months.

We are family owned and operated. Our lead fabricator is co-owner, and you will be expected to work alongside him on projects.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28.0 – 40.0 per week
