Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cook and Dishwasher to join our Boonies team. Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications, dietary guidelines, and safety standards
- Assist with menu planning and food presentation to ensure appealing and nutritious dishes
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with health regulations
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently to support ongoing meal service
- Manage food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent contamination
- Support catering events or special meal requests as needed
- Serve food safely and courteously to residents or customers during meal times
- Follow all food safety protocols including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation practices
Experience
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service is highly desirable
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal assembly techniques beneficial
- Familiarity with food handling safety standards and sanitation practices required
- Culinary experience including knife skills and meal preparation techniques is advantageous
- Previous work in the food industry or kitchen environment will support success in this role
