Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. You will assist with product inquiries, manage transactions, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Provide knowledgeable answers to customer inquiries regarding products and services.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently, handling cash register transactions accurately.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and improve sales performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring products are well-stocked and displayed attractively.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting inventory counts as needed.
- Uphold company policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, providing assistance as required.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and performing retail math calculations.
- Experience with cash registers and POS systems is preferred.
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader customer base.
- Familiarity with paint, stains and experience tinting paint IS REQUIRED.
- Excellent phone etiquette for managing customer calls professionally.
- Must be able to lift 70lbs.
- Must be able to be on your feet several hours a day
**This is a part-time position for the slower months (winter) but will be FULL-TIME during peak season. SUMMERS ARE REQUIRED, SATURDAYS ARE REQUIRED**
