Essential Functions
As an Environmental Services Technician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining hospital cleanliness and infection control standards. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, offices, labs, and public spaces
- Sanitizing equipment, furniture, and high-touch surfaces using approved disinfectants
- Making beds, removing trash, and restocking essential supplies
- Collecting and distributing hospital linens and gowns
- Performing daily linen inventory across departments
- Inspecting equipment and reporting maintenance needs
- Supporting a safe, sanitary, and compliant healthcare environment
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
- Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Preferred:
- Valid West Virginia Driver’s License
- Previous hospital, hotel, or janitorial experience
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role. You must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, lift, push, and pull (up to 50 lbs)
- Perform repetitive tasks and movements
- Work with cleaning chemicals and protective equipment (gloves, masks, etc.)
Travel Required
- Travel: Up to 15% within West Virginia and surrounding areas
