Position Summary
Boone County Joint Communications is hiring a
Radio Technicianto provide advanced technical support for mission-critical communication systems. This role is essential in ensuring reliable communication for public safety operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced technical support for two-way radio systems
- Maintain and repair:
- Conventional VHF and UHF base stations
- 800 MHz trunking systems
- Microwave and radio linking systems
- Support networking and telephony systems
- Program and troubleshoot portable and mobile two-way radios
- Respond to system issues, including after-hours emergencies as required
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more of the following:
- Working knowledge of networking
- Amateur radio license
- Associates degree in electronics or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid drivers license (must be maintained)
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Availability for after-hours emergency response
- Clear criminal record (excluding traffic violations)
- Ability to pass an FBI criminal background check, including national fingerprinting
- General Radiotelephone Operator License
- Technical diploma or bachelors degree in electronics from an accredited school or college
