TITLE: Assistant Director of Operational Technology
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field
- Current industry-related certificates preferred
- Experience supporting large-scale deployments, infrastructure projects, or enterprise systems preferred
- Supervisory experience managing infrastructure or technical support staff preferred
- Has demonstrated the ability to communicate and work effectively with all staff and stakeholders
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
JOB GOAL: Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the district’s technical infrastructure and support services including the oversight, tracking, and support of projects by coordinating the work of appropriate technology staff including PC Technicians and Network Administrators.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the Network Administrators and PC Technicians, providing guidance, performance feedback, support, and training opportunities by coordinating and monitoring daily assignments to ensure efficient workload distribution and alignment with district priorities

- Track and analyze helpdesk tickets and work order systems to monitor service levels, identify patterns, and address backlog or delays
- Review key performance indicators (KPIs) and report trends or concerns to the Director of Technology, recommending process improvements when needed
- Support team professional development through access to training, internal knowledge sharing, and continuous learning opportunities
- Maintain visibility across all infrastructure-related projects; assist with coordination, reporting, and resource planning without assuming technical ownership
- Collaborate with the Network Administrator team during project planning phases to ensure timelines, scope, and needs align with operational priorities
- Serve as the operational liaison between the department and external vendors, construction teams, and facilities staff
- Participate in district planning efforts related to construction, renovation, or large-scale technology upgrades
- Oversee the procurement of approved materials and equipment in compliance with KETS and district guidelines; review vendor quotes and invoices for accuracy
- Maintain documentation for network architecture, cabling layouts, licensing, and inventory systems
- Ensure compliance with state and federal law, Board Policy, and administrative regulations across all operational activities
- Conduct regular site visits and engage with building-level staff to maintain awareness of needs and ensure appropriate support
- Organize quarterly building check-ins and serve as the point of contact for operational issues impacting school staff
- Coordinate with the instructional technology team to ensure cohesive support across infrastructure and instructional systems
- Recommend tools, systems, or operational processes that enhance efficiency, service delivery, or team capacity
- Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be required by the supervisor

- Salary – Supervisors Salary Schedule
- 8 hours per day
