What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custom Chemical Applicator position at Boomer Ag Services LLC?
Key Responsibilities
- Apply liquid and dry fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to crops.
- Equipment Management: Operate, calibrate, and maintain sprayer/spreader/drone machinery, GPS systems, and tender trucks.
- Chemical Handling: Safely mix and load products while interpreting chemical labels.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely daily logs of applications for regulatory compliance.
- Customer Service: Communicate with clients regarding product application and field conditions.
- Facility Safety: Maintain facility cleanliness and assist with inventory management.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid state-issued pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain).
- License: Valid driver’s license
- Education: High school diploma or GED; agricultural education is a plus.
- Experience: Experience with agricultural equipment, Drones, GPS technology, and agronomy is preferred.
Work Environment
- Frequently works outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Long hours, including weekends, are common during peak spring/fall seasons.
- Exposure to agricultural chemicals, fumes, and loud machinery.
Key Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of chemical labels and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in mathematics for calculating field acreage and product amounts.
