Boom Supersonic
Boom Supersonic Salary
Englewood, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 4/9/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/17/2026
Boom Supersonic is building the Overture supersonic airliner and the Superpower gas turbine — machines that require some of the most demanding manufacturing in modern industry.

That only works if the hardware meets design intent.

Inspection is what turns design intent into reality. Your job is to make that happen.

Not a traditional role

This is not a job where you run prebuilt programs and generate reports.

You’ll be expected to take a new part — CAD, drawing, GD&T — and determine how it should be inspected. What matters, what doesn’t, how to align it, and how to trust the result.

You’ll work directly with engineers, machinists, and manufacturing teams to understand how parts are actually made and where variation comes from. When something is out of tolerance, you won’t just report it — you’ll help figure out why and what needs to change.

You are the link between how parts are designed, built, and verified.

The mission

Boom is standing up internal manufacturing for high-consequence hardware — precision machined turbomachinery, tight-tolerance components, and complex assemblies.

You will build inspection from first principles: interpreting GD&T, defining what needs to be measured, and creating reliable, repeatable inspection programs for first article, in-process, and final inspection.

You’ll generate data that engineers trust and use it to drive real decisions — working side-by-side with manufacturing and engineering to resolve issues, close root causes, and improve how parts are made.

As we scale, you’ll help define the metrology capability required to support production — improving workflows, identifying gaps, and ensuring inspection keeps up with build rate instead of slowing it down.

This job is demanding

The hardware we build is unforgiving.

You will encounter parts that don’t meet tolerance, drawings that don’t fully reflect reality, setups that introduce error, and measurement results that don’t make sense.

Sometimes the part is wrong. Sometimes the measurement is wrong. Sometimes the entire approach is wrong.

You need to be able to tell the difference — and help fix it. This requires strong technical judgment, comfort working in ambiguity, and the ability to operate directly on the shop floor with machinists and engineers.

Why Boom

Boom is building one of the most ambitious industrial programs of this century. The work is hard, the pace is fast, and the expectations are high.

In return, you’ll get real ownership, direct impact on hardware, and the opportunity to help build the metrology capability behind a supersonic aircraft and next-generation turbine.

If that excites you, apply.

Compensation

The Base Salary Range for this position is $109,000 - $137,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom’s total rewards package for employees.
