Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our small business CPA firm. The ideal candidate must be able to manage several client financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, and GAAP standards. This role requires proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy in all financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording all transactions, including debits and credits.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure proper accounting of all financial activities.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP principles in all bookkeeping practices.
- Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and record keeping.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing historical data and forecasts.
- Utilize QuickBooks or similar software for tracking expenses and managing budgets.
- Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits or tax preparation as needed.
- Stay updated on financial concepts to enhance bookkeeping practices.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role in accounting.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and practices, including budgeting and financial report writing.
- Familiarity with public accounting standards is a plus.
- Proficient in using accounting software such as Quicken or equivalent tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
