This is a hybrid Tax Accountant / Fractional Controller role for someone who's equally comfortable preparing complex business returns and sitting across the table (virtually) from a client to help them think strategically about their financial future.
What You'll Do
You'll be expanding our tax practice, working alongside our existing accounting team. That means preparing individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with current tax regulations, and developing proactive tax strategies with clients.
You'll also provide full-cycle accounting for a book of clients, overseeing bookkeepers and providing financial oversight, advisory support, and the kind of trusted guidance that makes a real difference for small and mid-size businesses.
Requirements
You bring both technical depth and genuine care for clients. You know your way around a complex business return, but you also understand that behind every return is a real person or business counting on you to get it right — and to help them plan ahead. You communicate clearly, work independently, and thrive in a collaborative remote environment.
What We Offer
This is a part-time to full-time role (30–40 hours/week) with genuinely flexible scheduling. All-remote, partially asynchronous, and structured to work with your life. 401(k) match and PTO. $32 /hour based on experience.

Requirements
- Active CPA license or EA
- 3–5 years of business tax preparation experience
- Strong working knowledge of current tax law and regulations
- Experience creating and presenting tax strategy plans with clients
- Comfortable in a client-facing, advisory capacity
- Remote within the U.S. | Must be authorized to work in the United States
