About The Job
This is an on-site position based in Birmingham, AL; remote may be considered for an exceptional candidate. The Programmer Analyst joins our IT Department supporting Infor GHR (Global Human Resources / Human Capital Management) and reports to the IT leadership team. The position plays a direct role in developing and maintaining the systems that support our people operations, working closely with HR stakeholders and third-party vendors to keep critical applications running and improving.
Role Summary
The Programmer Analyst develops and debugs Infor process automations, works through complex support issues, and translates business needs into technical solutions — all within a cross-functional environment spanning IT and HR. This role wears two hats: part developer, part business analyst. You’ll collaborate daily with HR end users and IT colleagues, and over time engage with third-party providers on outsourced integrations. The work environment is technical, collaborative, and fast-moving, with variety across coding, testing, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement.

Role Responsibilities
Development & Automation
- Develop, modify, and debug Infor process automations using LPL (Landmark Pattern Language) for Infor GHR/HCM
- Build and maintain reports and solutions using Infor Spreadsheet Designer (ISD)
- Write and optimize SQL and JavaScript to support integrations, data extraction, and custom solutions
- Support change management processes for Infor/GHR system updates and enhancements
- Research, analyze, and resolve system support issues end-to-end with minimal guidance
- Diagnose backend Infor issues including data integrity, security, and integration problems
- Act as an escalation point for technical issues related to time tracking, payroll, leave management, and workforce management (WFM)
- Maintain and support multiple environments (development, test/UAT, and production)
- Conduct pre-user unit testing to validate system changes before broader deployment
- Assist users with UAT (User Acceptance Testing), ensuring defects are captured and resolved
- Participate in system upgrades, patch testing, and new module rollouts
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into technical requirements and configurations
- Document system configurations, workflows, and process changes to maintain clarity and repeatability
- Support administration of annual HR processes such as merit cycles, compliance reviews, and benefits enrollment
- Collaborate with third-party vendors on outsourced solutions and integrations as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with Infor on the backend — diagnosing system issues, understanding data flows, and navigating configurations
- Development proficiency in JavaScript and SQL
- Experience supporting workforce management (WFM) systems
- Ability to function as both a technical analyst and a business analyst — translating between system behavior and business need
- Experience supporting multi-environment systems (test, UAT, and production)
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving
- Clear communication skills — able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Located in or able to work from Birmingham, AL (remote may be considered for an exceptional candidate)
- Direct experience with Infor GHR (Global Human Resources / HCM module)
- Experience with LPL (Landmark Pattern Language)
- Experience with ISD (Infor Spreadsheet Designer) and IPD (Infor Process Designer)
- Background in or strong interest in business analyst responsibilities beyond HRIS (e.g., ERP or Finance systems)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- Primary work location: Birmingham, AL (on-site); remote considered for exceptional candidates
- Standard full-time schedule; Monday–Friday
