Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance.
- To apply knowledge of books to processing, shelving, and sales, while continuously incorporating positive customer focused strategies.
- Staff members price, sort, stock, and merchandise all areas of the department.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with motivation to serve the public
- Professional telephone skills
- Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule to include early mornings, evenings, mid-shifts and weekends
- Diverse Book knowledge
- Understanding of the pricing, trading and discount systems
- Motivated to learn outside of their reading comfort zone
- General knowledge of products sold at Bookmans
- Knowledge of store sections and layout
- Ability to work independently with guidance and direction from Book Department Supervisor and Management
- Ability to use reference materials
- Must be able to conduct oneself in a civil, professional and respectful manner at work
This position is Full-time and scheduled at a minimum of 32 hours per week. Must have Open Availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and be able to work 5 shifts per week.
