Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC) is one of the Bay Areas oldest Black-led, Black-serving nonprofit organizations, with 106 years of service to San Francisco. A beacon of Black joy and self-determination, we have nurtured over five generations of Black San Franciscans. We stand embedded as an anchor institution, fostering intergenerational bonds and working in solidarity with allied communities to reform and reimagine a more inclusive San Francisco. We prioritize serving the Black community, and we welcome all individuals from all cultures and ages, from 0 to 99, who walk through our door. We are one of the few urban spaces where anyone in the community can access comprehensive services, ranging from a hot meal to childcare, academic support, and senior services.Summary:BTWCSC seeks a dynamic, strategic, and culturally groundedTeen & TAY Manager of Youth Success to oversee all teen and transitional-age youth (TAY) programming. This position provides leadership, supervision, and vision for programs that empower Black, Brown, and underrepresented youth ages 1325 to thrive academically, emotionally, and economically.Rooted in the Childrens Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom School model, this position integrates identity-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices that reflect BTWCSCs Freedom Academy values. The Manager is responsible for ensuring program quality, data integrity, and strong youth outcomes while supervising the Teen and TAY Coordinators, program aides, and youth interns.This leader plays a pivotal role in shaping the transition pipeline between middle school, high school, and adulthood-creating a clear pathway that connects youth development, workforce readiness, higher education, and intergenerational connections and community cultural wealth through shared learning and mentoring.Essential Duties:Oversee the daily operations of Teen and TAY programs, ensuring that every activity-from Life skills workshops to field trips-reflects cultural affirmation, joy, and pride in Black identity.Supervise and coach the Teen Coordinator, TAY Coordinator, and program aides using trauma-informed, restorative, and equity-centered approaches that promote staff confidence, reflection, and accountability.Lead weekly Teen/TAY team meetings and bi-weekly coaching sessions to review program data, address youth needs, and strengthen alignment between Freedom Academy, teen, and TAY pathways.Align all Teen and TAY programming to create a clear developmental pipeline connecting BTWCSCs K8 Freedom Academy, Teen, and TAY initiatives.Oversee the creation and implementation of curriculum and lesson plans that highlight the histories, resilience, and contributions of Black and Brown communities while supporting academic and emotional growth.Work with the Associate Director of Expanded Learning & Enrichment to ensure programming meets grant deliverables and measurable outcomes, including attendance, stipend tracking, and academic benchmarks.Serve as the main point of escalation for youth and family issues, ensuring culturally responsive communication and solutions.Maintain ongoing contact with parents, caregivers, and case managers to ensure coordinated support for youth, particularly those navigating trauma, housing instability, or academic barriers.Oversee all Participant stipend programs, ensuring youth payments are timely, accurate, and tied to attendance and participation metrics.Ensure that all Teen and TAY participants are connected to wraparound services within BTWCSC (e.g., Food to Freedom, Bsafe, Senior wellness).Incorporate Freedom School themes such as I Can Make a Difference in Myself, My Family, My Community, and My World into Teen and TAY program cycles.Create safe and inclusive learning spaces for Black LGBTQ , immigrant, and differently-abled youth, ensuring visibility and representation throughout programming.Manage data collection and reporting systems (Airtable, DCYF CMS) to ensure accurate documentation of attendance, participation, stipend distribution, and case management follow-ups.Submit monthly narrative and data reports to the Associate Director of Expanded Learning and Enrichment highlighting successes, trends, and challenges.Ensure full compliance with all safety, licensing, mandated reporting, and workforce development standards required by funders and city agencies.Partner with the K8 Freedom Academy Manager to align transitions between grade levels and create mentoring opportunities between teens, TAY, and younger youth.Cultivate and maintain external partnerships with SFUSD schools, City College and culturally aligned CBOs to strengthen youth access to postsecondary and employment opportunities.Participate in citywide coalitions, conferences, or learning exchanges that strengthen BTWCSCs visibility and impact in the youth development field.Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications and Skills Required:Bachelors degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field (Masters preferred).Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience working with teens and young adults, including at least 2 years of direct supervision or management.Strong knowledge of San Francisco youth ecosystems, especially in Black and historically marginalized communities.Deep understanding of trauma-informed care, identity-affirming youth development, and racial equity frameworks.Proven ability to manage staff, balance multiple projects, and meet grant deliverables.Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Google Workspace, Airtable, and DCYF CMS or similar data systems.Must possess a valid CA Drivers License, proof of insurance, and ability to pass TB, background, and Mandated Reporter clearances.Certification, Licensure, Training:Applicants must complete all requirements below:Current CA Drivers License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.Current CPR & First Aid Certificate (every two years after that)Current Immunizations (TB) (every two years after The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 35 lbs. Occasional weekend work required to accomplish objectives. Physical requirements are also typical of those needed in an office environment.Schedule:Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, some nights and weekends. Additional hours may be required for program activities, including but not limited to BTW staff events, evening and late-night duty, and staff meetings; a calendar will be provided.
