Our client, a premier international law firm, is seeking an accomplished Managing Clerk to become an integral member of its Litigation Support team. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated litigation alongside some of the country's most respected attorneys—all while enjoying a collaborative culture, hybrid flexibility, and excellent long-term career potential.
The hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Monday through Friday. 3 days in office 2 days working remotely.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be the procedural expert for the litigation team, ensuring cases move forward accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a busy litigation docket for state and federal matters
- Calculating and calendaring court deadlines with precision
- Advising attorneys and staff on New York, federal, and local court rules and procedures
- Preparing and coordinating electronic filings through NYSCEF, PACER, and other filing systems
- Monitoring court dockets and communicating important case developments
- Coordinating service of process and other court-related services
- Serving as a trusted resource for procedural questions and litigation strategy support
- Creating docket reports and maintaining accurate litigation databases
- Training and mentoring litigation docketing staff
- Helping develop best practices and improve docketing procedures
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who enjoys being the "go-to" procedural expert and takes pride in getting the details right.
Qualifications include:
- 5 years of Managing Clerk, Litigation Docketing, or related law firm experience
- Extensive knowledge of New York State and Federal Court procedures
- Strong understanding of the CPLR and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience with NYSCEF, PACER, CourtAlert, Bloomberg Law, and similar court resources
- Experience with rules-based calendaring software such as CompuLaw, ProLaw, or comparable systems
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced law firm environment
A Notary Public commission is a plus but not required.
