What does a Senior Deputy Treasurer do?
As a Full Time Senior Deputy Treasurer at Bonneville County, you will engage in a variety of advanced technical tasks integral to the efficient collection, recording, and balancing of county tax revenues. Your expertise will support essential department functions, including receiving tax payments, posting transactions, and balancing revenues for taxing districts. You will respond to public inquiries regarding taxation and assist in preparing tax notices.
Additionally, in the Chief Deputy Treasurer's absence, you will manage daily operations, oversee deputy treasurers, and review employee performance. Your responsibilities will also include preparing financial reports, conducting audits, and maintaining internal controls for county funds. By facilitating communication about tax processes and ensuring compliance with county policies, you will help enhance public understanding and contribute to the financial integrity of Bonneville County.
Your role will be pivotal in promoting operational excellence within the Treasurer's Office.
What you need to be successful
To excel as a Full Time Senior Deputy Treasurer at Bonneville County, a blend of education, experience, and essential skills is required. Educations and Experience Required for the position are:
A. Graduation from senior high school or equivalent with course background in bookkeeping, accounting or some other related field; plus, one (1) year of specialized training in computer operation and data entry.
AND
B. Three (3) years of experience performing above or related duties.
OR
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Considerable knowledge of basic practices and methods of bookkeeping and accounting; specialized software for documenting and processing financial activity; functions and responsibilities of the office of County Treasurer; interrelationships of the various county offices; the tax process and related charges and fines; terminal operation data entry and processes related to Treasurer's office the laws and regulations governing tax collection and disbursements in the county; general office maintenance (i.e. Record keeping, filing, indexing etc.). Working knowledge of basic principles of supervision. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions quickly and accurately; understand financial terminology; read and understand county legal documents; operate a variety of types of office equipment such as personal computer, adding machine calculator, typewriter etc.; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; write clearly and legibly develop effective working relationships with supervisors' fellow employees and the public.

- Highly proficient keyboard and 10-Key skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Experience
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing and a pre-employment background check.
