What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dietitian and Education Coordinator/Pharmacy position at Bonner General Hospital?
Shift: Days
This position is responsible for the supervision of all nutritional aspects of patient care. The Dietitian/Diabetes Education Coordinator works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Department in conjunction with the Dietary Services Department and Department of Nursing Services.
Our Registered Dietitian assesses an inpatient's nutritional needs following the multidisciplinary team. They also counsel outpatients on Medical Nutrition Therapy in adult and pediatric populations covering diabetes, weight management, oncology, cardiometabolic and renal conditions, and GI health.
They also oversee the coordiantor of the Diabetes Self Management Education, DSME, program as part of the American Diabetes Association.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution
Completion of an accredited and supervised practice internship
Experience:
Previous experience as a Dietitian preferred; Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred
License and Certifications:
Current Idaho Dietitian License
Current registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration
Current Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist preferred
