SUMMARY

Our Property Management company is seeking a talented Assistant Property Manager with apartment industry experience. In this integral role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient accounting operations of the property. Key areas include accounting, unit reporting, rent reporting and collections, and other supportive management functions. This position also assists with leasing, resident services, cultivating positive resident relations, and resident retention.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritize and assign service requests, make-ready priorities, and repair projects
  • Create an atmosphere of cooperation, enthusiasm, service urgency, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and professionalism among staff members
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reporting for the property as required
  • Control and maintain petty cash funds
  • Adhere to the company's standards and operations policy and procedures
  • Maintain resident relations and resolve residents’ concerns in a professional, timely manner
  • Ensure late notices are delivered to the appropriate resident; prepare legal action for eviction when necessary
  • Complete proper move-in/move-out functions in Yardi
  • Responsible for daily property walk-throughs to ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained
  • Promote the implementation of an effective Resident Retention program
  • Notify residents of upcoming community activities, regular resident recognition, follow-up on service requests, and continual promotion of resident services
  • Perform annual inspections of each unit
  • Conduct annual and interim recertifications to ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Process applications and verify eligibility documentation as needed
  • Maintain accurate office supply inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Ensure files, reports, and documentation are maintained in accordance with company standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities

  • At least two years of relevant experience in property management is required
  • Tax credit/affordable housing is preferred
  • Yardi software and Microsoft Excel experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, standing, walking, giving tours, and meeting with potential tenants
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to cover a variety of properties with stairs and conduct tours in various weather conditions
