Senior Accounting Analyst

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in more than 30 practice and industry groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Accounting Analyst in our Syracuse, NY office. Working as a member of the Accounting Team, this position provides firmwide support of accounting operations and financial reporting.

Position Responsibilities:

• Post journal entries to the general ledger
• Maintain and manage the firm’s fixed assets, ensuring all additions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recorded
• Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Assist with month-end, year-end close, and budget season
• Assist Controller with external review/audit preparation
• Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations; including operating, payroll, and escrow
• Calculate special arrangement compensation spreadsheets and distribute to attorneys
• Analyze financial results and provide insights to management on trends, variances, and risks
• Assist with various ad hoc requests and special projects, as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite - in particular Excel and Word
• Proven ability to problem solve
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy of data and being responsive to requests
• Strictly adhere to the firm’s change management and other operational policies

This position's salary range is between $70,000 to $80,000, negotiable based on years’ experience.
