About the Role
We are seeking a Data Architect with 15 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Data Platforms, including experience operating at a Staff, Principal, or Lead Architect level within large-scale organizations.
This role will serve as the highest-level technical authority for our Enterprise Data Infrastructure team, driving the long-term strategy, architecture, and governance of our modern data platform. You will lead enterprise-wide data modernization initiatives, establish engineering standards, and mentor a team of senior and intermediate data engineers and architects.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Strategy
Define and execute the enterprise data platform roadmap.
Design scalable, cloud-agnostic lakehouse architectures using open table formats such as Apache Iceberg.
Ensure long-term data portability and minimize vendor lock-in.
Establish data standards and governance frameworks that support future AI and analytics initiatives.
Platform Modernization
Lead the transition from legacy data warehouse environments to a modern AWS-based lakehouse architecture.
Drive best practices across AWS Glue, EMR Serverless, S3, Redshift, and Fivetran integrations.
Optimize high-frequency data ingestion, processing, and performance at scale.
Engineering Governance
Implement DataOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and data quality frameworks.
Establish reusable patterns, guardrails, and development standards to improve engineering quality and reduce technical debt.
Enable scalable delivery across distributed onshore and offshore teams.
Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor a team of 3 senior and 3 intermediate data engineers/architects.
Elevate technical excellence, architectural thinking, and leadership capabilities across the organization.
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
Required Qualifications
15 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Data Platform leadership roles.
Experience operating as a Staff, Principal, Lead Architect, or equivalent technical leader.
Deep expertise in AWS data services, including Glue, EMR Serverless, S3, and Redshift.
Strong experience designing lakehouse architectures using Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or similar technologies.
Proven success implementing DataOps, CI/CD, and data quality frameworks.
Experience with large-scale ERP integrations, CDC pipelines, and tools such as Fivetran.
Advanced Python and SQL skills.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling methodologies, including Kimball and Data Vault 2.0.
