Production Supervisor

Description

We are looking for a production supervisor for a metal manufacturing facility. This candidate would be in charge of a team of machine operators and technicians to ensure smooth and consistent manufacturing.

Responsibilities

· Plan and execute work orders based on promise dates by managing prioritization of work.

· Schedule material and personnel on the shop floor for production runs.

· Promote a good working environment and oversee the manufacturing culture.

· Ensure our processes are performed in a conscious and safe manner to prevent damage to person, part, and equipment.

· Recommend program and operational changes based on observed experience.

· Be a bridge between management and manufacturing and support the customer’s needs.

· Operate manual and CNC equipment to machine metal components as needed.

· Setup machines as needed for specific components.

· Oversee and work in a consistent manner to ensure repeatable product quality.

· Capable of working in a standing environment and ability to lift upto 50 lbs.

· Any other relevant tasks that may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

· The candidate must meet one of these requirements or a mixture of them.

• 2 year technical degree in machining and related trades.
• 5 years on the job experience as a machine operator in steel machining.
• 5 years on the job experience with lathes, mills, on any material.

· Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Must be able to operate a forklift, certification would be a plus.

· Mid-level computer skills, operating with spreadsheets and production systems.

· Experience with manual handheld measuring tools.

Competency Expectations

· Excellent attendance.

· Basic math and estimation.

· Understand machining speeds and feeds.

· Basic drawing interpretation.

· Evaluate multiple machine’s operational limits.

· High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Job type & Location

Full-time, On- site, based in the Wayland, NY area; and may need up to 30 miles of commute while the facility is set up.

Compensation

$ 35 – 45 / hour.

The compensation above reflects where in the range we likely intend to hire for this role. The actual compensation may deviate from the range based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
