Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, locate, load, and unload products within the warehouse or production facility. This role supports efficient warehouse operations while maintaining safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, pallet jack) safely and efficiently
- Load, unload, move, stack, rack, and stage products and materials
- Verify product quantities and inspect materials for damage
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain accurate inventory movement records as required
- Assist with picking, packing, and shipping activities when needed
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance needs
- Support compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous forklift or warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic math and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime if required
Work Environment
- Warehouse or distribution center setting
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting required throughout the shift
