We are a small, family-culture office where every team member is valued, respected, and plays a meaningful role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. In this position, you will work directly alongside our surgeon from pre-operative consultation through post-operative recovery — assisting in surgical procedures, preparing and caring for patients, and ensuring our clinical environment meets the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and skilled RN who thrives in a collaborative small-office setting and takes pride in building genuine relationships with patients and colleagues alike. Please note this position includes on-call availability for after-hours patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgeon during in-office surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile, safe operative environment throughout each case
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments following OSHA and infection control protocols; set up and break down the operating room before and after each procedure
- Conduct pre-operative appointments including patient assessments, vital signs, medical history review, medication reconciliation, and pre-op education
- Educate patients on procedure preparation, what to expect on the day of surgery, post-operative care instructions, and activity restrictions
- Perform suture and staple removals, wound care, dressing changes, and drain management during follow-up visits
- Administer medications via injection or other routes as ordered by the physician, following aseptic technique and safety protocols
- Monitor patients during and after in-office procedures; respond promptly to any changes in condition or patient concerns
- Triage post-operative patient calls and messages; assess concerns and coordinate with the physician as needed
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support general nursing and clinical office duties as needed in our small-team environment
- Be available on an on-call basis for after-hours patient concerns and post-operative emergencies
Experience
- Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing — required
- Current BLS/CPR certification — required
- Prior experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, aesthetic medicine, or a surgical specialty — strongly preferred
- Surgical assist, scrub, or circulating nurse experience — highly valued
- Familiarity with instrument sterilization, autoclave operation, and sterile field management
- Experience performing suture removals, wound care, and post-operative patient assessments
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR); experience with aesthetic or surgical practice management software a plus
- Comfortable working on-call rotation for after-hours patient needs
- Strong patient communication skills with a warm, reassuring chairside manner
- Highly organized with the ability to independently manage clinical tasks in a fast-paced, small-office setting
- A team-first attitude that fits naturally into a family-oriented practice culture
