Dental Specialist II - Fixed (Ceramist)

Job Summary:

The Dental Tech Specialist – Fixed is experienced and has technical excellence across all stages of fixed prosthetic fabrication. This role combines foundational production duties with advanced aesthetic and structural work, especially in posterior and anterior restorations. The role is responsible for tasks including luting, opposing model articulation, liner application, metal polishing, posterior finishing, grinding, and single posterior crown finishing. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Job Functions: 

• Luting: Assists in cementing components during various lab stages to ensure stability and accuracy.
• Opposing Model Creation: Prepares and articulates opposing arch models for proper occlusion checks.
• Liner Application: Applies porcelain or opaque liner to substructures under supervision.
• Metal Polishing: Polishes metal frameworks and substructures to achieve a clean, high-shine finish.
• Applies stains and glaze for natural color gradients and surface texture.
• Grind and finish single anterior crowns with attention to esthetics and contour.
• Executes stain and glaze techniques to match translucency and hue of adjacent teeth.
• Builds porcelain on posterior ultra units with anatomical fidelity.
• Perform detailed shade matching per case requirements.
• Works on metal substructures and zirconia frameworks for fixed restorations.
• Grinds, stains, and glazes restorations to meet clinical specs and esthetic benchmarks.
• Posterior Finishing: Shapes and contours posterior units for correct anatomical form and function.
• Reads and follows Doctor’s prescription and preferences.
• Organizes, prioritizes, and plansworkload to meet daily production requirements of at least 80%.
• Ensures work is completed according to quality standards.
• Additional duties and assignments as needed.

Requirements

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required. 
• 3 or more years of experience as a Dental Technician required. 
• Proficiency in posterior and anterior crown/bridge finishing.
• Strong knowledge of materials: porcelain, metal substructure, zirconia.
• Detail-oriented with advanced manual dexterity.
• Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate and work well with others.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Good time-management skills and ability to perform under deadlines.
• Ability to follow production timelines and quality assurance protocols.

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Ability to use small hand instruments.
• Ability to sit up to 8 hours a day.

Salary : $28 - $32
