Psychoeducation Specialist – Lorain Hospital
Shift/Schedule:
- Part Time - Scheduled for 16 Weekly Hours
- Shift Times - Days/Afternoons
- Weekends & Holidays - As Needed
The Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH).
Essential Functions:
- Facilitates individual and/or support groups (within Psychoeducation scope) and may participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
- Provides community resource knowledge and handles coordination of related activities.
- May provide 1:1 patient safety companion service as needed, and patient checks as assigned.
- Care planning and discharge planning in collaboration with Social Worker team.
- Participates in continued education and in-service training.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Expressive Therapy (Music, Dance/Movement), Counseling, or Human Services (required)
- Must be licensed, certified, or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following: (required)
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
- Registered Art Therapist (ATR)
- Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P)
- Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC)
- Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC)
- Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT)
- Occupational Therapist Licensed (OTR/L)
- 1 year of experience in social services or human services setting (required)
