Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center seeks a skilled physician assistant to deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient care in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon in the operating room, including Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH).
- Coordinate and counsel patients regarding care under the direction of supervising physicians.
- Perform daily rounds on hospitalized patients, review care plans with nursing staff, and complete discharge summaries.
- Conduct physical assessments and obtain comprehensive patient histories.
- Order medications, treatments, and laboratory studies as permitted by Ohio State Medical Board supervision agreements and Mercy Health credentialing.
- Participate in an on-call schedule for patient issues, including holiday coverage.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
Required qualifications:
- NCCPA certification.
- Current Ohio PA licensure.
- Graduation from an accredited PA program; Master of Science in a PA-related field as required by the Ohio State Medical Board.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
