Bon Secours Mercy Health is is seeking dedicated, compassionate Physician Assistants and Family Nurse Practitioners to join our expanding Urgent Care team throughout the Richmond, Virginia market. These full-time opportunities offer the chance to practice at the top of your license while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

As a valued member of our team, you'll evaluate and treat a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries alongside experienced medical assistants and front-office staff who are committed to providing an outstanding patient experience. Our urgent care centers are open 7 days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering predictable scheduling, a supportive team culture, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve every day.

Urgent Care Scope of Services:

• Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
• Occupational medicine services, including workers’ compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
• Support the Primary Care Virtualist Program during periods of available capacity as needed.
• On-site diagnostic services, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
• Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care for walk-in patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent care needs
• Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care as appropriate
• Collaborate with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service
• Provide patient education and ensure clear communication around care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

Mandatory:

• Current and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Virginia or ability to obtain prior to starting.
• Active DEA license
• A minimum of two years of active FNP/PA experience
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Must be comfortable seeing up to 60 patients as sole clinic provider during peak cold and flu seasons.
• DOT Certified or ability to obtain
• BLS (minimum) or ability to obtain

Preferred:

• Experience working as FNP/PA in Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine.
• Experience with workers comp claims
• Experience performing DOT, new-hire, and school sports physicals

Work Hours

Full-Time: Three 8a - 8p shifts per week with rotating weekends.

• Week 1: 0745 - 2000 Tu, W, Sa
• Week 2: 0745 – 2000 Su, Th, F

Holiday Expectation

• All clinics are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
• All clinics will open late on New Years Day and close early on Christmas Eve.
• All clinics will remain open with normal business hours for all other holidays.
