The primary function and general purpose of the adjunct faculty position is to support the teaching needs of the program. Responsibilities are focused upon providing excellence in teaching within the curriculum.
- Implements the curriculum with effective teaching strategies and evaluation measures.
- Utilizes innovative teaching strategies/information technologies and provides feedback to facilitate student learning.
- Evaluates student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
- Maintains accurate record of student achievement and submit documentation by established deadlines.
- Provides availability to students to answer questions/concerns regarding course material and expectations.
- Manages time effectively for course preparation and learning activities. Communicates effectively with course and program leadership.
- Engages in critical self-reflection regarding personal performance as a faculty member.
- Maintains all licenses, certifications, and annual competencies as required for role.
- Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning that promotes professional development in the area of content and clinical expertise, teaching and learning, and evaluation strategies.
- Serves as a professional role model and upholds the values of the institution.
- Meets specific faculty role expectations delineated in the Associate Handbook.
- Promotes a healthy work environment for associates.
- Provides a student-centered learning environment designed to support student personal and professional growth and achievement of educational goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Higher minimum degrees may be needed to meet programmatic needs.
- Degree is congruent with program or specialty that you teach.
- Graduate (Master’s) or Post-Graduate Degree (doctorate)
- Terminal research or practice degree in needed specialty (i.e. PhD, DNP, PharmD, EdD,)
- Three years of clinical experience in the appropriate field.
- Proficiency in computer skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Has situational awareness to respond promptly and adapt to change as needed.
- Two years of teaching experience; Professional certification
