Cafe Manager – Bolton Bean
Bolton Bean, located in Bolton, MA, is looking for a dependable, motivated, and positive Cafe Manager to help lead our team and support the daily operations of our busy neighborhood cafe. This is a salary position offering health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys working with people, creating a welcoming guest experience, and keeping the cafe running smoothly. We are looking for someone who is organized, reliable, calm under pressure, and able to lead by example. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coach and motivate staff are essential.
This role will involve supporting daily cafe operations, maintaining high standards for customer service, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, staff training, scheduling, inventory, ordering, order recieving, and overall team performance. The right person will take pride in building a positive work environment, developing team members, solving problems quickly, and helping Bolton Bean continue to be a warm and consistent part of the community.
Previous cafe, restaurant, retail, or customer service management experience is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in food service or hospitality environments, preferably in quick service or fast food restaurants
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and beverage service—barista experience or coffee expertise is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast or Clover for cash handling and sales processing
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience in staff training and team management
- Knowledge of inventory control, food safety protocols, and food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally
- Previous experience in restaurant management or food industry roles such as assistant manager or kitchen supervisor is preferred
- Ability to manage shift schedules effectively while balancing operational needs with team well-being
