Production Associate/Welder

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Production Associate/Welder – Steel Fasteners and Custom Steel Fabrication

Position Summary: Come join our growing team! Responsible for production of threaded and bent fasteners according to specifications. Also responsible for running custom steel fabrication shop. Cut raw steel to length with band saw and run through bender and threader to produce finished parts. Responsible for keeping to the production schedule by finishing a target number of finished pieces per week. Producing custom parts with welder and ironworker in fabrication shop.

Mission:

The core mission of the Production Associate is:

• Producing strong, clean welds and finished products that meet customer standards. Assisting production processes while keeping production machinery running safely and efficiently

Welding (Primary)

Produces strong, clean, consistent welds that meet customer standards. Reads drawings and measures accurately, sets up welding equipment, inspects own work, and keeps track of welding consumables.

Machine Operation (Secondary)

Safely sets up and runs production machinery. Performs routine maintenance, spots and troubleshoots problems, and reports issues to the Production Manager.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Cutting, bending and threading raw steel
• Making custom steel parts with welder and ironworker
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed parts
• Maintains safe and clean working environment
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirement
• Welding (primary duty). Making sure finished product is to customers standard. Keeping track of welding consumables and communicating with Production Manager for re-ordering supplies.

Machine operation (secondary duty). Running production machinery as needed, performing routine maintenance, and reporting any issues to the Production Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
