Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the facilities department staff and external subcontractors
- Design, implement, and manage facility upgrades and renovations
- Supervise routine maintenance and repairs of building systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and operational expenses
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialized tasks
- Monitor and evaluate building systems for performance and efficiency
- Prepare reports on facility operations and maintenance activities
- Conduct facility inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions
- Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs
- Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Plan and oversee facility layout alterations and modifications
- Respond to emergency situations involving facility infrastructure
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and facility modifications
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facility Management, or related field and/or related course work or equivalent experience plus a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the field required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience required
- Shipbuilding industry experience preferred
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
