Boles Hardware is Growing! We are looking for an experienced power equipment mechanic to join our service team. We are an independent shop conveniently located between Pilot Mountain and King, NC. Power Equipment Service Technician:
Diagnoses, repair, and maintain small engines and machinery, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, generators, tillers etc.. Be proficient at mechanical troubleshooting, and component replacement, ensuring equipment operates safely according to OEM standards.
We are a Wright, Ariens, and Echo Power equipment dealer that works on a broad range of other OEM's including Stihl, MTD, AYP and we are a warranty dealer for Briggs, Kohler, Kawasaki engines.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and Repair: Identify, fix, and replace faulty parts on gasoline 2-Stoke or 4-Stroke engines including diagnostics of fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine tasks such as tires, chain and blade sharpening, oil changes, spark plug replacement, lubrication, and filter replacement.
- Testing and Inspection: Test equipment to verify performance, ensuring it meets operating specifications.
- Customer Service: Consult with customers regarding repairs, explain technical issues, and provide repair estimates.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs to provide to service and parts department.
- Shop Safety: Keep work areas clean and clear and adhere to safety procedures while operating tools and handling hazardous materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of small engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical troubleshooting with 3 years of documented experience.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and pneumatic tools. (All tools are to be provided by technician except OEM specialty tools)
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and maneuver equipment as needed and work in
- Certification: Specialized training or certifications are highly preferred (Kawasaki, Kohler, Briggs, Echo, Stihl) but not mandatory.
- Must have valid drivers license and adhere to random drug testing.

40hrs PTO after 90 day probation period.
