About this Position
BoldtSmith Packaging Consultants is looking for a Sales Engineer II to acquire new consulting business opportunities with new clients to the organization by means of prospecting, networking, industry targeting, outreach, and other activities. The successful candidate for this "boots on the ground" sales position will be able to get into plants and identify the packaging engineering related opportunities that clients can get an ROI on. The candidate must be able to use a technical (packaging) background and refined communication and sales skills to create opportunities for success. 7 years of experience working in positions of packaging materials, processes, and/or sales is ideal.
What does the Sales Engineer II do?
- Hunt for new target markets and customers to drive sales and margin increases
- Create relationships that lead to organic growth within new and inactive clients
- Conduct on-site client visits to identify larger proposal opportunities they may or may not not know they have
- Utilize knowledge of testing protocols to guide client to minimum requirements for safe shipping
- Provide feedback to make the sales process more effective and efficient
- Attend opening, mid-point, and final presentations given by Project Managers to maintain contact throughout the project life.
- Network within clients to penetrate accounts and increase business
- 30% Domestic Travel Expected (Could be more if based outside of the Midwest)
- Manage prospects and opportunities through the Contact Relationship Management process
- Lead sales meetings to provide management updates
- Provide ideas for use in LinkedIn and other Marketing efforts
- Assist when required on website hit introductions and meeting coordination
- Generate, distribute, follow-up, and land new proposals
- Organize all relevant information for hand off to project managers when new contracts are signed
- Coordinate arrangements with customer visits, trade shows, and off-site meetings
