As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will deliver skilled education, treatment, and interventions under the guidance of a physical therapist and physician, focusing on patient safety and well-being in a home health setting. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, providing regular updates and documentation to ensure optimal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer direct physical therapy treatments according to the plan of care.
- Communicate progress and updates to patients, caregivers, and team members.
- Provide education on prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive device usage and rehabilitation techniques.
- Report patient observations and changes in condition to supervisors and physicians.
- Assist with discharge planning, instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and confidentiality in compliance with professional standards.
- Participate in in-service training and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Valid CPR certification and driver’s license.
- Relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management.
- Experience in home health therapy preferred.
