We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and recovery-minded Evening Peer Support Specialist to join our Supportive Housing team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals working toward stability, independence, and long-term recovery.
The Evening Peer Support Specialist serves as a positive role model and supportive presence for residents who may be navigating substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges. You will help create a safe, respectful, structured, and welcoming home environment while encouraging residents to build the skills and confidence needed for successful independent living.
Schedule & Setting
Full-Time | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Benefits Eligible
Your shift begins at our treatment facility, where you will participate in a shift exchange/handoff before transporting clients to the Supportive Housing residence. From there, you will provide evening support, structure, transportation, and engagement throughout the house.
What You'll Do
- Lead by example by demonstrating healthy, responsible, and recovery-oriented behaviors.
- Treat every resident with dignity, fairness, compassion, and respect.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while building genuine, trusting relationships with residents.
- Facilitate and participate in house meetings, helping residents communicate concerns, establish expectations, and work together as a community.
- Provide transportation to recovery/support meetings, appointments, recovery events, community activities, and other approved activities.
- Reinforce house expectations, including curfew, cleanliness, safety, accountability, and healthy living practices.
- Support residents in developing routines and habits that promote stability, wellness, and recovery.
- Observe and communicate changes in resident behavior, needs, or concerns to the appropriate members of the treatment/support team.
- Complete light administrative duties, documentation, shift notes, and other required records.
- Respond to routine resident needs while recognizing when situations require escalation to clinical or supervisory staff.
- Collaborate with treatment and residential staff to provide consistent support and follow-through.
- Work with the treatment team to improve the lives of those who are in our care

You should be comfortable working with individuals who may experience substance use dependency, mental health challenges, emotional distress, or other barriers to independent living. You must be able to maintain professional boundaries while creating relationships built on trust, respect, and consistency.
