As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will manage a small team dedicated to building and automating foundational services and workflows that empower our engineering team and other teams across the organization. You'll focus on creating automated data pipelines, streamlining internal workflows, and ensuring our platform is robust, scalable, and user-friendly. In this leadership role, you'll foster a culture of automation and collaboration while continuously improving our automated workflows, data pipelines, and team efficiency.

What You'll Do
- Strong communicator who mentors peers, guiding priorities and projects, and manages a small team of platform engineers. Lead enhancements to platform processes, tools, and standards to enable more efficient and effective resource utilization.
- Anticipate and address platform issues to maintain peak performance and reliability.
- Assess and integrate emerging technologies into existing and new frameworks as needed
- Establish and enforce security, compliance, and governance best practices across platform workflows and data processes
- Implement and maintain monitoring and observability for automated workflows and data pipelines, providing clear system health insights
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and reduce manual toil through automation
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies that enhance platform capabilities
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
YOUR LOCATION

Skills & Experience
- 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- 3 years of professional experience with AWS
- At least 2 years of experience with AWS CDK and strong proficiency in infrastructure as code practices
- Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure across cloud environments
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with hands-on experience building cloud-based environments and managing container orchestration
- Skilled in developing code to create highly automated infrastructure environments that support broader company objectives while using agile practices
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools, including AWS CodePipeline and GitHub Actions
- Nice to have:
- Familiarity with SQL and data modeling tools (such as dbt)
- Expertise in serverless architectures
- Proficiency with either Python or Ruby
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and governance best practices.
- Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time, (up to 8 hours per day) at a desk working on a computer.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, a mouse, keyboard, phone and video conferencing.
