Barista and Counter Service

Job Overview:

The Boise Pie Company is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly person to join our team. We offer cafe style breakfast food, lunch, pie, and a wide variety of coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages. We are looking for a barista/cashier to greet customers and work the front counter. Main responsibilities include taking and entering orders on our Square POS, preparing beverage orders, and preparing grab and go food items.

We are currently looking to fill the late morning to close shift Tuesday - Saturday.

Compensation range is hourly base plus pooled tips

Duties:

- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold coffee, tea, & specialty drinks
- Take customer orders and handle transactions using a cash register / POS system
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar & front counter area
- Assist in food preparation and handling as needed
- Uphold food safety standards at all times
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service
- Up sell products and promote special items to customers
- Ability to close the restaurant following our specific guidelines for safety & cleanliness

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of retail math for handling transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively
- Is able to stand for extended periods of time
- Can prepare orders with a high level of quality and consistency
- Proficient in time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with cash register operations and sales techniques
- Knowledge of food handling, food service, and food safety practices
