Boise Centre, Idaho’s premier convention center, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety & Security Manager to lead the protection of our guests, employees, and facilities. Compensation:
- Range of $55,702.40-$88,067.20 annually, depending on your experience.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage the Safety & Security department, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Oversee the physical safety and security of Boise Centre’s facilities, employees, guests, and property.
- Coordinate and execute emergency response plans, safety drills, and event security protocols.
- Collaborate with subcontracted security providers and local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance and preparedness.
- Conduct safety and compliance training for employees, including fire code, ADA compliance, emergency procedures, and workers’ compensation awareness.
- Manage the Safety Committee and facilitate meetings focused on identifying and improving safety measures.
- Monitor and maintain safety equipment, including AEDs, first aid kits, and personal protective gear.
- Contribute to budget and capital planning related to safety and security operations.
- Serve as the key contact for incident response, investigations, and hazard mitigation planning.
- Build relationships with community partners to strengthen Boise Centre’s safety network and preparedness efforts.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree and/or 4 years of experience in event or crowd control.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing staff.
- First Aid and CPR certification (required).
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of life safety codes, emergency protocols, and security best practices.
- Calm, professional demeanor under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop and enforce policies, interpret regulations, and ensure compliance.
- Experience managing budgets and security vendor relationships.
- Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn new software tools.
- Commitment to collaboration and delivering an excellent experience for guests and colleagues alike.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods
- Occasionally ascends tall heights up to 22 feet
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
- Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
- Frequent reaching and use of ladders, stools, and stairs
- Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to moderate noise levels
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays
