Primary Duty
Compile and maintain a perpetual plywood lumber inventory control system for sales and internal use. Oversee shipment of all plywood panels, PLV panels, and Landscape Timbers. Ensure that lift drivers input the proper information into the MOM system for correct invoicing. Compile quality control data for monthly statistical report.
Essential Functions
- Compile and maintain a perpetual lumber inventory system. Take an accurate count of the finished plywood once a day, check the tallies of shipments for accuracy, and make sure all lumber removed from the premises is accounted for.
- Enter inventory and send out copies to designative personnel such Sales, Plant Manager, Plant Superintendent.
- Communicate closely with the Sales department and production layup line Supervisor to ensure an even flow of materials that matches the order file.
- Control all local sales and internal transfers of material.
- Order railcars and call trucks in order to ensure continuous movement of material.
- Keep track of all stamps and replace as needed for stamping plywood panels.
- Order supplies as needed: such as cover boards for wrapping specialty plywood, Dunnage boards for use in the box cars and other supplies as needed.
- Practice and promote good housekeeping and ensure physical inventories are stored in proper place.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience/Physical Functions
High school diploma, or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related job function. Knowledge of operation of office equipment; PC, calculator, computer software, etc. Ability to understand and apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Good understanding and application of proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Must have good proofreading skills.
Decision-Making/Supervisory
Employee receives occasional supervision, usually requested by the employee, and works alone on difficult tasks. Questionable cases are referred to others. Provides guidance or instructions to other employees in demonstrating how to perform tasks and procedures or resolve problems.
