- We are seeking an Overhead Crane Installer to join our dynamic team at Bohl Crane Inc. This role is vital in ensuring the proper installation of overhead cranes. The ideal candidate will raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks. This role requires mechanical expertise, willingness to work at heights, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and technicians to ensure proper crane functionality while contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional industrial solutions.
- Responsibilities
- Install overhead crane systems, hoists, and related equipment according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for installation procedures.
- Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels
- Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting, as needed.
- Perform inspections and testing to ensure crane systems meet safety and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of crane systems.
- Work with engineers and project managers to ensure installations are completed efficiently.
- Adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations during installation and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
- Travel, sometimes overnight and more, to various job sites as required for installations.
- Authority to stop production in the event due to poor quality, unsafe parts or conditions appear.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
- Experience in industrial crane installation, maintenance, or related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work at heights and in various industrial environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
