Duties and Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations
- Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; recommend permanent corrective actions
- Maintain and update safety documentation as required (SDS)
- Environmental Management
- Maintain environmental permits and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors.
- Organize emergency drills and ensure readiness of response teams.
- Promote a culture of safety through campaigns and continuous education.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Health & Safety metrics.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with Facilities and Operations teams
- Serve as the point of contact for Health, Safety and Environmental related matters
- Lead the Safety committee and facilitate regular meetings
- Work closely with vendors and government agencies as needed.
- Authority to stop production in the event due to poor quality, unsafe parts or conditions appear.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or related field is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory frameworks
- Certification in safety (e.g., CSP, CHMM) is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
