Press Operator

SUMMARY:

The associate is expected to obtain the knowledge and demonstrate the ability to safely operate the primary, as well as the secondary machines to ensure the manufacturing of quality automotive suspension bushings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILTIES:

• Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Operation of multiple pieces of manufacturing/finishing equipment.
• Perform and document visual and mechanical inspections to assure products conform to customer specifications.
• Routinely perform machine maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure cleanliness of environment.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Prepare basic paperwork requirements i.e.: daily process sheet, heat sheet, PAR’s, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required. No experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; move around the plant; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch.
• The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
